I’ve always been drawn to stories…
…going back to my childhood. I was that kid huddled under the blankets with a flashlight, reading deep into the night. My mother (also a writer) gifted me my first typewriter at age 7—and since then, I’ve never looked back.
A storyteller for my entire career, I’m a bestselling novelist and award-winning editor, as well as a content creator and communications specialist. I believe it’s story that connects us as humans, creates bonds, and provides memorable, enduring experiences.
I love to hear stories, write them, edit them—and celebrate them in all forms.
FICTION
My third psychological thriller, Anyone But Her, was named 2024 Best Mystery/Thriller by the Indie Author Project. A mother-daughter story and a ghost story, Anyone But Her explores knowledge, intuition, and what happens when we learn what we thought we wanted to know.
My second novel, the USA Today bestseller The Glass Forest, was noted by Forbes as being one of "Five Novels With a Remarkably Strong Sense of Place." It’s the story of a complex family in which a family member goes missing.
The Bookseller is my New York Times bestselling debut novel. Slated to be a motion picture produced by Julia Roberts, The Bookseller tells the story of a 1960s-era Denver bookstore owner who's caught between a dream life and a real life.
I’m proud to be the editor of the Colorado Book Award-winning anthology Denver Noir. Part of Akashic Books’ celebrated Noir series, Denver Noir features 14 dark, morally ambiguous stories set in and around Denver, written by an incredible lineup of contributing authors.
