Welcome! Here you'll find a bit about my passion for Midcentury Modern design—and a lot about books!
Fiction
NEW BOOK! I'm thrilled to announce that I'm the editor of the forthcoming Denver Noir volume in Akashic Books' celebrated Noir series. These collections feature dark, morally ambiguous stories (my favorite kind) set in cities around the US and the world. I was honored when Akashic asked me to edit the Denver volume, and I've curated an incredible lineup of contributors. Denver Noir releases on May 3, 2022. Learn more here.
The Bookseller is my New York Times bestselling debut novel. Slated to be a motion picture produced by and starring Julia Roberts, The Bookseller tells the story of a 1960s-era Denver bookstore owner who's caught between a dream life and a real life.
My second novel, the USA Today bestseller The Glass Forest, was noted by Forbes as being one of "Five Novels With a Remarkably Strong Sense of Place." It’s the story of a complicated family in which a family member goes missing.
Design
Design is pure passion for me. I'm particularly drawn to Midcentury design, as well as modern design that reflects Midcentury sensibilities.
